May 19th 2025 Softball Recap: Elkhart Christian Series The Hamilton Lady Marines faced a tough two-game conference series against Elkhart Christian this past weekend, playing both home and away. Game 1 – Friday (Home): The Marines fell 6-1 despite a late spark in the bottom of the 6th inning when Karly Nester broke up a no-hitter with a single. She eventually came around to score Hamilton’s lone run. Marissa Mercer added a single in the 7th as the Marines tried to rally but came up short. Game 2 – Saturday (Away): Hamilton dropped the second game 10-0 in six innings but showed more offensive life. Bella Rivera led the way with a double, while Karly Nester, Tristen Creager, Brenna Mercer, and Marissa Mercer each contributed singles. The Lady Marines look to bounce back this week with a pair of tough matchups—Monday night at home vs. West Noble and Wednesday on the road at Eastside. Baseball Recap: Friday at Elkhart Christian The Hamilton Marines baseball team traveled to Elkhart Christian on Friday for a Hoosier Plains Conference showdown, ultimately falling 13-3. Despite the loss, the Marines had several offensive highlights: Jagger Hurraw scored twice and ripped a double. Harrison Richter had a solid outing at the plate with a single, double, and an RBI. Zane Ritter was consistent, tallying three singles and an RBI. Dalen Pfefferkorn and Liam Ferrell each added a single to the hit column. The Marines will enjoy a busy home stand this week with three straight home games: Monday at 5:00 PM, Tuesday at 5:30 PM, and Wednesday at 5:30 PM, which will also be Senior Night.
