Marines Softball Hosts Central Noble

April 17th 2025 Hamilton softball held their home opener on Thursday evening as Central Noble's Junior Varsity team visited. Marissa Mercer was in the pitchers circle for the Marines and was able to go 1, 2, 3 in the top of the first inning. Aiyanna Skees walked and then advanced to second and third on wild pitches. Tristen Creager hit a shot at third base bringing Skees in from third for the first run of the game. Mercer kept the Cougs scoreless in the second but a two out fly ball brought in Central Noble's first run followed up by an infield single and a bases loaded wild pitch making the score 1-3 heading into the bottom of the third. Bella Rivera brought in the second run for the Marines in the bottom of the third and then back to back hit by pitches with the bases loaded put Hamilton up 4-3. Taryn Kintz drove in two more runs with a rip down the third base line putting Hamilton up 6-3. Tristen Creager knocked in 2 more runs off a double to left field making the score 8-3. one more Marine run crossed the plate in the 3rd giving Hamilton a 6 run lead heading into the fourth. Rivera came in to start the fourth and threw 3 straight scoreless innings. In the bottom of the sixth Rivera scored from third after a error followed by a Tsumiya Sato run on a wild pitch which brought the score to 11-3. Bella closed out the 7th with another score free inning giving the Marines the victory by a score of 11-3. Next up for the girls is a road game on Monday April 21st at Styker. This victory is Coach Kintz's first varsity win as Hamilton's coach.
